Better Drive Driving Lessons

Below is some information to help you get an idea how our driving lessons work.

Beginners Driving Lesson

• Your first lesson is about introducing you to the cars controls.
• You will be driven to a quiet controlled area so as not to cause you stress.
• We will explain all individual aspects of the car.
• We will explain secondary controls.
• We will explain Blind spots and all other important safety measures.
• We will get you moving off and stopping in a controlled way.
• At all times we will use Questions and Answers to help you understand.
• We will at all times be sensitive to your nerves.
• The rest of the lesson will be dictated by how you respond to the initial instructions.
• Its important to remember that content of the lesson is tailored to your ability.

Remember communication between student and teacher is vital. Ask questions!

Pre-Test Driving Lesson

• We can meet you at the Test Centre or at your home.
• The first 10 minute of a pre-test lesson is assessing your ability against the known test standard.
• If you have done a test and failed we will discuss what may have gone wrong.
• We will try and explain all areas where you may have gone wrong and introduce corrective measures to avoid the faults in future.
• Where appropriate we will use diagrams and visual aids so as to make things as clear as possible.
• We may even demonstrate certain methods so as to make things clear.

Many Driving schools use a mock test system, where you are put through a driving test scenario. While this can be useful we only do this when we know you have a chance of passing the mock test.

The reason for this is that many schools use this method to scare people into doing more lessons, which is a tactic that we do not agree with.
